Hofner 450 model + pickup (1968)
Model 450 built in Germany, with adjustable truss rod. Built entirely of maple, with rosewood fingerboard and bronze frets.
Tinted maple bridge with saddle. 64.5 cm scale, with cutaway.
It has 2 high-quality "Roswell" superhumbuckers with ceramic magnets installed.
The installation goes through the inside of the guitar to the jack socket at the end of the body.
The string height is very comfortable to play, 1.5 mm for the first string at the 12th fret.
The bronze frets are like new, no marks, polished and shiny.
The back was re-varnished by the previous owner, and some dull clouding appears, but the top and sides retain the original varnish.
It has multiple bumps and scratches, but it has been fully serviced and is firm and solid, working very well.
It has been completely overhauled and is firm and comfortable to play, tuning well.
Original bronze frets, no marks, inspected and polished, oiled fingerboard.Great sound, tunes well in all positions and plays well with no buzzing or fret noise
Hofner 455
"Full-size archtop (16" bottom bout), with minimal binding/hemming to the body. Made from 1953 through the 1980s, during which time Hofner produced many variations on the theme. Most finished in tobacco brown sunburst. , but also some in wine red. Some versions from the late 1950s and early 1960s were characterized by the rhomboid shape of the celluloid on the headstock. The early ones only had a plain varnished headstock without fascia. Most had no binding. the sound holes or the rear of the body, but this eventually changed on later models, with the joint appearing at the rear of the body in the late 1960s."
