Hofner 499E (ii) 12- strings 1968 
 Pine-spruce top with sides and rosewood back. Ebony fingerboard and headstock with 5 mother-of-pearl blocks (in later editions its was decreased until it only reached 3). 
 This was the best of the first round that Hofner built, Jumbo round-shoulder. it has an integrated pickup in the fingerboard, after the last fret. 
 It is a large, long and very deep scale guitar, much wider on the sides than other models. 
 It is master-built, built with German rigor and accuracy, perfect sound and fit: Height of 6th string at 12th fret is 2mm, and 1st string at 12th fret = 1.5mm.
